About WASDLife

Stay awhile and listen.

PC gaming has been a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember. For anyone who has ever spent time at a desk with a mouse in their hand, “WASD” isn’t just a cluster of keys used to move a character forward, backward, and strafe side-to-side. It is the universal foundation of PC gaming.

When I think of “WASD,” it brings an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. I think of the people I’ve met and the clans I’ve joined in Counter-Strike (pre-Steam and beyond). I think of the farming, the 40-man raids in Alterac Valley, and the completely random strangers I’ve helped in World of Warcraft (classic, before “Classic” was a thing). I think of the countless hours poured into Diablo 1, 2, Lord of Destruction, 3, and now Resurrected (and no thank you to Immortal).

To me, PC gaming isn’t just a hobby or a pastime. It’s a way to bring people together. It’s a culture, and even a way of life. Friends, late nights, old-school LAN parties, and energy drinks—those are the memories that built this site.

Why You Can Trust Our Reviews

WASDLife is an online media publisher dedicated to the hardware that makes those memories possible. We focus entirely on PC gaming peripherals, mechanical keyboard switches, budget buying guides, and custom keyboard builds.

We don’t just read spec sheets; we actually play the games.

The hardware industry is flooded with generic tech sites that recommend the same expensive gear to everyone. But we know that the keyboard you need for a tactical shooter is completely different from the mouse you need for a fast-paced Battle Royale.

Our reviews and settings guides are forged through thousands of hours of hands-on, competitive gameplay. I actively play and test hardware in:

  • Escape from Tarkov (PvP, PvE, and Arena)
  • Valorant
  • Apex Legends
  • Marvel Rivals
  • Battlefield 6

When we recommend a heavy tactile switch for Tarkov, it’s because we know how easy it is to accidentally fat-finger a linear switch and give away your position in the Dorms. When we recommend an ultra-lightweight mouse for Apex Legends, it’s because we know how exhausting it is to track a tap-strafing target with a heavy MMO mouse.

Our Mission

We aim to be unbiased, accurate, and transparent. We buy, build, and modify custom mechanical keyboards so we can tell you exactly which switches are actually smooth, and which ones are just marketing hype.

Our goal is to provide top-tier, experience-driven content to our audience via our website, helping you find the perfect gear to dominate your favorite games without draining your wallet.

Welcome to the culture. Welcome to WASDLife.

I’m Dan, and gaming has been part of my life since the NES era — my passion for tech started when I tried rebuilding my family’s home computer, eventually installing Windows Me (which crashed almost weekly) completely from scratch. I started this site around 2019 focused mostly on game reviews, but since then WASDLife has shifted toward the hardware and software side of things — mechanical keyboards, switches, mice, and everything else that makes up a great setup. I especially love tinkering with keycap sets and switches to dial in the perfect feel, and I write everything here myself. When I’m not testing gear, you’ll usually find me deep in a new release or starting another PC build.
