Stay awhile and listen.
PC gaming in general has been a large part of my life, and I’ve been PC gaming for a very long time.
Most people who spend time gaming on a PC know WASD for the specific keys used to move a character around (forwards, strafe left, backwards, strafe right). It’s a pretty common set of keys for most games.
When I think of “WASD” it’s an overwhelming feeling. I think of the people I’ve met and clans I’ve joined in Counter-Strike (pre-steam and beyond), the farming, raids, AV, and completely random strangers I’ve helped in WoW (classic, before classic was a thing) and Diablo (Diablo 1, 2, Lord of Destruction, 3, and now Resurrected – no thank you to Immortal).
I think of PC gaming as a hobby, a pastime, a way to bring people together, a culture, even a way of life. Friends, late nights, old school LAN parties, energy drinks – great memories.
